Designed for the legal field, SupraDraft OCR makes searchable copies of your scanned PDFs and pictures, right on your PC. Your original never changes.
What it does
- Searchable copies of your scans. Add scanned PDFs, or pictures in TIFF, JPEG or PNG, and SupraDraft OCR makes a searchable PDF of each, so you can search, select and copy the words.
- Your original never changes. Each searchable copy is a new file, saved beside the original with _searchable.pdf at the end of its name, or in a folder you choose in Settings. If that name is taken, a number is added; nothing is overwritten.
- One file, a whole folder, or drag and drop. Add files one by one, add a folder (and its subfolders, if you like), or drag them onto the window.
- Every page read. By default every page is read. A setting skips pages that already have searchable text, when you’d rather save the time.
- Smaller files, on by default. Where it can, it saves scanned files in less space. You can turn it off in Settings.
- Signed PDFs: it asks first. Before it makes a searchable copy of a PDF that carries a digital signature or certification, SupraDraft OCR asks you, because signature checkers will show that copy as changed after signing. Your original, signature and all, is never changed.
- Your files stay with you. Pages are read on your computer, nothing is sent to an online OCR service, and Rabbit Hole Technologies never receives your files. There is no account. Over the internet SupraDraft OCR sends its license check, its update checks and, only if you choose to send one, a problem report; the privacy policy lists what each holds.
- Works offline. Reading pages never needs the internet. SupraDraft OCR needs a connection to start the free trial, to enter a license key, and at least once every 30 days to confirm the license.
